Birth On Labor Day (1)

This weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the first annual Birth On Labor Day (BOLD) event sponsored by Supported Birth of Arizona.  This was a group of midwives, doulas, baby wearers, and other groups whose focus is on helping families have positive birth experiences.

Both my children were born with the help of doulas.  Mani Canaday was my doula for M and many of her friends and colleagues were at this event and I felt like a bit of a celebrity because they had seen the pictures I took of her family and heard stories of M's birth.

In addition to displaying some of my images at the event, I also brought my camera along to do some Pure Fun Mini-Shoots.  Over the next few weeks I'll be posting images to share with everyone.  If you would like copies of your pictures, please feel free to download them (right click and save or click and drag to your desktop).  You can also forward the link to friends/family.  A suggested $5 donation would be welcome (see the yellow paypal button at the very bottom of the post), but feel free to give what ever you can.  A portion of the proceeds will go back to Supported Birth of Arizona.

It always warms my heart to see the pure love between moms and their kiddos.  No matter what kind of day it has been, having a picture taken instantly reconnects them to this feeling.

These sisters had a blast as well.  Not having siblings myself, it makes me so happy to see this bond between others.
