I've been playing around with some new post-processing techniques.  What do you think?

Super Cute B Family

One of the cool things about life is that you never know when you're going to make an awesome friend.  I was getting my hair done (if anyone needs a great stylist in Anthem, let me know, mine is AWESOME!) and started chatting with the woman who was waiting for the appointment after mine.  She was so nice and we clicked right away.  She had been wanting to have some portraits made for her hubby as a father's day gift.  Turns out, I happen to know a photographer...

I love in-home sessions because everyone is so relaxed and the pictures really reflect the pure spirit of each family.  When I got to their house, five year old B was still asleep.

He was so sweet and cozy, mom had to snuggle in too.

Here's B playing "Hide and Seek."

Look at these soulful eyes...

I couldn't decide which version I liked better...

Family fun.  I love the lone blue block.  Totally life with kids.

These two just adore each other.

And here's handsome Mr. C.

He has a swing in his room.  How cool is that?

This is what you get for standing too close to the swing set.  So glad I did.

And one of the gorgeous Ms. H herself.  You look marvelous!

I know Dad is going to love his present.  Thanks so much for having me.  I had a wonderful time.

Stunning Senior

When life gives you lemons, take pictures!  The other day as I was driving home from the grocery store, I saw a totally cruddy, rundown bus parked in an empty lot across from my house.  What was even more awesome, was that this bus was missing its roof and there were beat up old cars sticking out of the top.  It was so totally my cup of photographic tea.  I love the contrast of old and new, nature taking over the things that man has made.  I wanted to run home and get my camera.  Alas, with both kids and groceries in the car, the bus would have to wait.  But I knew that it could disappear from my life just as suddenly as it had appeared so I called a few friends and invited them to meet me at the lot at sunset.  Well, I'm sure you can guess where this story is headed...By the time we got there, the bus had moved on.  I had a mini artistic tantrum.  But then I realized, I had two gorgeous models (I wanted to do both a Senior and Hot Mamma) and babysitting already lined up.  Ya, don't have to ask me twice.  And I'm so glad we did.

This is the absolutely gorgeous Miss "H."

I felt very strange putting the "Pure Child" logo on these images, since "H" is most definitely not a child.  I had such a great time with her that I think I need to start a Senior Portraits division =).

I really wanted to play up the contrast between this rundown location and her youthfulness so I asked her if she wouldn't mind wearing something fancy.  When she said she had a hot pink dress with shoes to match, I nearly fell over.  As you can see, it was the perfect choice.

The Professional Photographers of America Magazine was having a cover contest, which, as a member, I was eligible to enter.  This has been a wonderful year for me and I've created so many images that I love.  I had no idea which image to pick.  So the night before the contest deadline, I figured what the heck and asked for a dream to help me decide.  When I woke up in the morning, I realized that I had dreamt about the image below.  I figure, if you ask for the dream, you've got to do what it says.  Wish me luck!

Thanks to H and her mom who made this session happen on such short notice.  You are a stunning young lady and so very nice as well.  I know I'll see you again soon, but I just want to wish you the very best as you head into your senior year.
